Home Theater / A/V

A properly installed home theater disappears into the room: no visible cables, calibrated audio you can actually hear, and a system I set up so everything works together the first time.

Home Theater / A/V

The Done-Right Promise

If a repair or installation fails within 90 days because of my workmanship, I return and fix it at no additional cost. Parts and materials follow their manufacturer warranty.

TV mounts with concealed wiring, surround sound setups, projector installs, and receiver configuration. Clean cable runs and calibrated audio.

A properly installed home theater disappears into the room. No cables draped along the baseboard, no speaker wires showing behind the couch, no receiver left in its default factory setting so the center channel is too quiet to follow dialogue. I handle the mounting, the concealment, and the calibration so the experience actually matches what the equipment can deliver.

If you just need a TV on the wall, that lives on the Television Mounting page (from $145). Come here when you want the full treatment: surround sound, a projector, a receiver, and a room that works as a system.

What I Install

TV Mounts with Concealed Wiring

In-wall cable concealment, low-voltage recessed outlets, and brackets sized to the TV and wall type. Phoenix great rooms and vaulted ceilings usually mean long cable runs through block or stucco walls; I quote those on inspection because they are a different job from a standard drywall interior wall.

Surround Sound & Speaker Setup

Speaker placement, wiring, receiver configuration, and room calibration. 5.1, 7.1, or Dolby Atmos as the room allows. Starts at $225 (2–3 hr labor). In-wall cable concealment for speaker runs is a $95 add-on.

Projector Installs

Ceiling mount, wiring, focus, and image alignment for dedicated theater rooms. Screen installation and ambient-light planning included in the conversation. Projector installs start at $225 (2–3 hr, includes mount).

Receiver & Streaming Setup

AV receiver configuration, input labeling, HDMI-CEC, and streaming-device setup (Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV). Remote consolidation so you are not juggling four remotes. Receiver configuration starts at $125 (1–2 hr).

What It Costs

Most home theater projects run 2–5 hours depending on scope. I quote the full job up front so you know the number before I start. A few firm reference points:

  • Surround sound / speaker setup: $225 (2–3 hr labor)
  • AV receiver or component configuration: $125 (1–2 hr)
  • Projector install including mount: $225 (2–3 hr)
  • In-wall cable concealment (add-on to any service): $95
  • $125 minimum service fee covers travel and the first hour on site; $75/hr beyond that.
  • Flat-rate packages available on request if you want one firm number for a combined scope.
  • Mounts, cables, and brackets are customer-supplied or HandyMack-supplied. Either way, you see the hardware cost on the invoice.

A new 120V outlet or a dedicated circuit behind a wall-mounted TV is licensed-electrical work. I can recess a low-voltage pass-through so HDMI and power cords disappear into the wall; running new 120V service is a different job. I coordinate the electrician hand-off and come back for the mount and A/V work once the outlet is in. I install; I do not pull permits.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a home theater setup cost?

The $125 minimum service fee covers travel and the first hour on site, plus $75/hr after that. Firm reference points: surround sound / speaker setup $225 (2–3 hr), AV receiver configuration $125 (1–2 hr), projector install including mount $225 (2–3 hr), in-wall cable concealment add-on $95. Most combined projects run 2–5 hours. Flat-rate packages are available on request if you want one fixed number for a multi-piece scope.

Do you also mount TVs, or is this only for full theater setups?

Both. Standalone TV mounting (just the bracket and cables, no surround sound) is its own service at Television Mounting from $145. Come here when you want the full setup: speakers, a receiver, a projector, and a system that works together.

Do I need to supply my own equipment?

Customer-supplied is preferred for mounts, cables, receivers, and speakers. I can advise on receiver and speaker models before your install, and I can source hardware if you would rather not shop. Either way, hardware cost shows up separately on the invoice from labor.

Can you run new electrical for a wall-mounted TV?

I can recess a low-voltage pass-through bracket so HDMI and power cords disappear cleanly into the wall. Running a new 120V outlet or a dedicated circuit behind the TV is a licensed-electrician job. If that is what your wall needs, I coordinate the hand-off and come back for the mount and A/V work once the outlet is in.

My walls are block or stucco. Does that change anything?

Yes. Phoenix great rooms and older homes often have block or stucco walls instead of standard drywall interiors. In-wall cable runs through masonry are a different job from drywall, so I quote those on inspection rather than giving a blind number. Text a photo of the wall to (480) 885-6292 and I can usually give you a ballpark before booking.

Surround sound or soundbar, which one do you recommend?

It depends on the room and how much you want to commit to the setup. A soundbar is simpler and cleaner for a bedroom or a room where you mostly stream. A true surround system (5.1 or 7.1) does things a soundbar cannot in a dedicated living room or theater space, especially for movies. I will tell you honestly which one makes sense for your room before you buy anything.

How long does a typical home theater install take?

Most projects run 2–5 hours. A TV mount with in-wall concealment and receiver configuration is usually 2–3 hours. Add a full surround-sound setup and you are closer to 4–5 hours. A projector room with screen install and calibration can be a full morning. I scope the time before I book so you are not waiting around.

What areas do you service?

I am based in Stetson Valley and serve Phoenix, Peoria, Glendale, Sun City, Surprise, and the greater Phoenix Valley. Scottsdale is case-by-case. Call (480) 885-6292 with your zip code if you are not sure.
